after 2.0 day
well what to say: I now know, as previously i suspected, that the Web 2.0 is simply '2' and, while it may less than clearly defined as 'new' because it is more an extension of something else, the heuristic value of the term '2' was demonstrated yesterday. Clearly this has a lot to offer and I have taken away some of that excitement and implemented a couple of things already. My main concern came from Ross Smith's talk where she emphasised the significant minority who cannot take advantage of this technologically driven area and who will be increasingly disadvantaged as education becomes increasingly centered on possession of technology and associated knowledge. On the other hand, higher education has never had too much of a problem living with a disadvantaged minority, and will continue to pay lip service at suitable moments and then continue uninterrupted in its ambitions... whatever they may be.
